Ian

Hello I’m Ian,

I have had a role in accountancy and tax for over 30 years. That sounds quite depressing in a way doesn’t it? I enjoy it immensely though. I am acutely aware of the financial pressures and continual issues that businesses face in the commercial sector, having spent a 10 year spell in industry myself. I like to think that I work for clients in foreseeing those pressures and doing everything that I can at my end to reduce some of the tension they create.

I am qualified to deal with accountancy and tax. I do not have a specialism as such, though 30 years of experience does give you a thorough knowledge of the sector. I know lots of interesting things about accounts and tax. On that note, I do make an excellent pub quiz team member.
I have felt at home ever since joining ABC Accounting. I am proud to be able to offer a service that always puts the client’s needs and concerns first. I feel as though I am part of a very strong team full of like-minded individuals, so I come to work with a smile on my face and nine times out of ten I leave the office with it intact.
I am perhaps brushing against a stereotype when I say that I like Sky for the documentaries, especially the history and the military channels, as well as the sport. I have always held a fascination for WW1 and my interests include most sports, perhaps with the exception of synchronised swimming. I am a fully accredited umpire coach in hockey, there are not many accountants that can say that! When I am not working I like spending time at home with family. One last thing you might like to know, I am not a fan of Ant and Dec, but I think Arthur Lowe is great. I will not hold it against you if you like Ant and Dec, it is an illness that has affected so many.
